What we do

Before Along the Ice, there were four types of media:

1. General news
: "This player got traded, injured, waived, suspended." | "This game was cancelled." | "This coach said that," etc. | We all follow this media because at the end of the day we want to stay informed.

2. Play the GM
: "This player is set to become an UFA at the end of the season—what should the team do about that?" | "This team seems destined for a deep run, but should they add before the trade deadline?" etc. | This content can be particularly engaging if it's about your team, and can spark plenty of imaginative conversations and arguments.

3. Advanced analytics
: "This player is better/worse than his basic stats suggest." | "That player should get more/less ice time because of his underlying metrics." | "This guy is the real MVP because of his WAR," etc. | It's crazy that this type of media has become mainstream in such a short period of time. We think this only continues to grow, although much of the data might be moving in-house as teams establish their own analytics departments.

4. Highlight reel:
"There were 40 goals last night, but this one was the best of them all." This media distills the game into the most-popular 1%.

We provide a new media type at ATI, intended to answer the HOW and WHY of the other four. As our tagline suggests, we think of this media type as: "the subtleties."

"How are Barkov and Bergeron consistently at the top of Corsi%?" | "Why was McD able to split the defense on that gorgeous goal?" | "How does Crosby continue to put up a point per game in his mid-30s?" | "What about Johnny Gaudreau allows him to excel despite his size?" etc.

While other media outlets may have access to the latest information or most advanced stats, none are trying to answer the immeasurable questions that our beautiful game is offering.

So for those who want a deeper understanding of the best game on earth, ATI is the place for you.
